Mini MM Playgroup, Horsley Community Centre
Bong Bong Road, Dapto NSW 2530
A lot of literature and assistance is readily available for parents of single-born babies but there is a lack of advice and help for the significant section of our community who give birth to twins, triplets and higher order multiples. Illawarra South Coast Multiple Birth Association, a part of the Australian Multiple Birth Association, is one of the many associations which endeavour to 'bridge the gap', so to speak. Our members provide support to those families because most of us feel another parent in the same situation can understand or offer information to assist.
Mini Multiple Mornings is held every Thursday from 9.30am to 12.30pm. We close for the Christmas holiday and reopen 1st term of each new year. It is a great chance for parents and children to get together with fun activities organised each week. For 0 to 5 year old multiples and their siblings. Morning tea starts at 10.15am, each family is responsible for supplying one piece of fruit per child. The children enjoy a communal seated morning tea where they help themselves to platters of fruit to encourage good healthy eating, fine motor and social skills.
Illawarra South Coast Multiple Birth Association holds monthly meetings on the first Monday of each month (except January)
Where: Collegians Club, Cnr Charlotte & Flinders Street Wollongong
We meet in the bistro in the back left corner behind the pizza bar. All Members of ISCMBA are welcome to attend the monthly meetings and get involved, give feedback and have your say. Our committee members have participated in both State and National roles within the AMBA family. All roles on the ISCMBA committee are carried out in a volunteer capacity.
