Paint Shellharbour REaD

Read, talk, sing and rhyme with your child from birth

Paint the Town REaD is an Australian initiative that motivates communities across Australia to read, talk, sing and rhyme with their children from birth so they’re ready to learn to read and write at school.

Paint Shellharbour REaD is excited to work collaboratively with government, non-government and commercial stakeholders to get the early literacy message out to the many families caring for pre-school aged children.

A busy family friendly city with a high population of families raising young children, Shellharbour hosts many community events that the Paint Shellharbour REaD reading tent is being welcomed to, along with its reading champions ready to sit and read with eager young children.

Paint Shellharbour REaD consulted children across the city to design our mascot.  Bangu arrived during KidsFest 2016 at the Communities for Children Picnic in Blackbutt Forest.
